Modern lesson cars for safe driving lessons
The car you learn to drive in matters. At Rijschool Denhaag we drive in well-maintained, modern manual cars — safe for both student and instructor.
Manual cars as standard — why?
Rijschool Denhaag uses manual gearbox cars as standard. The reason is practical: someone who learns to drive in a manual car receives a full category B driving licence without any restriction. That licence allows you to drive both automatic and manual vehicles. If you only learn in an automatic, a code is added to your licence and you are not permitted to drive a manual vehicle.
Our lesson cars are fitted with dual controls: the instructor can intervene at any moment using an extra brake pedal and clutch. That provides safety, especially in the early lessons. The cars are regularly serviced and inspected, so you always drive a reliable vehicle.
Comfort, visibility and adjustability
The driving position is adjustable for every student: the seat, steering wheel and interior mirror are always set to suit you before the lesson begins. A good seating position and line of sight are essential for safe driving and a better feel behind the wheel. Small details such as a clear rear-view mirror and a well-adjusted headrest make a noticeable difference.
Would you prefer to learn in an automatic? That is possible at Rijschool Denhaag, but please discuss it beforehand. Bear in mind that an automatic licence (code 78) restricts you to automatics. For most students in The Hague and surrounding area, the manual car is the better long-term choice.
