Cancelling or rescheduling a lesson: here is how it works
Cancelling a lesson can happen to anyone. At Rijschool Denhaag we apply a clear and fair cancellation policy that works for both you and the instructor.
The 24-hour cut-off: why does it exist?
At Rijschool Denhaag you can cancel or reschedule a driving lesson free of charge up to 24 hours before it is due to start. If you cancel within those 24 hours, the full lesson cost is charged. That cut-off may sound strict, but there is a practical reason: the instructor reserves that time exclusively for you. A cancellation on the morning of the lesson leaves no room to fill that slot with another student.
A timely cancellation allows the instructor to assign the lesson time to another student who is waiting. That keeps lesson prices fair for everyone and ensures the schedule runs efficiently. You benefit indirectly too: an available instructor who does not have empty hours in the diary.
How do you cancel and what if something genuinely comes up?
The simplest way to cancel is by phone, WhatsApp or email. Call +31 6 22114552, send a WhatsApp message or email info@rijschooldenhaag.nl. Include your name and the time of the lesson. We will confirm the cancellation and schedule a new date together when it suits you.
Did you simply not show up without any message? The full lesson cost applies in that case too — we call this a no-show. If there is a genuine emergency — such as a hospital admission or a sudden bereavement — please get in touch as soon as possible. We look at each situation individually and consider what is reasonable. We are not a machine: we understand that life sometimes takes an unexpected turn.
