Your complete checklist for exam day
On the day of your CBR practical exam you want to think of nothing but driving. Make sure your documents and belongings are in order well in advance. Here is the complete checklist.
What you absolutely must not forget
The most important document is a valid identity document: a passport, Dutch identity card or a residence document. A driving licence application receipt or an expired document will not be accepted by the CBR. Check the expiry date the evening before — not on the morning itself.
Have you passed the theory exam? Then that certificate must be valid on the exam date. Theory passes are valid for five years from the date you passed. The CBR checks this digitally, but it is good to know yourself when your theory expires. Wearing glasses or lenses? You must have them on during the exam — this is also checked.
Have you completed a health declaration or medical assessment? Make sure the outcome is positive and recorded in the CBR system before your exam date. Your instructor will check this with you in the run-up to the exam.
Practical preparation: on the way to Rijswijk
The CBR exam centre for The Hague, Zoetermeer and surrounding area is located in Rijswijk. Your instructor drives with you to the exam centre, so you are in a familiar environment right up to the last moment. The drive to Rijswijk also serves as a good warm-up to get into driving mode.
Plan to leave with plenty of time to spare. Arriving late can mean your exam is cancelled without a refund of the exam fee. We make sure we are at your pick-up point in good time. The evening before the exam: lay everything out, get a good night's sleep and eat normally. That sounds simple, but nerves often cause people to skip just that one step.
